Isolated Water Shut-Off and Boil Water Notice

Dear Rollingwood Resident,

The City of Rollingwood is making an emergency water line repair in an isolated area of the city which will result in no water for a period of roughly 30 minutes. Portions of the following streets will be affected and will be under Boil Water Notice:

Vale
Bettis
Pickwick
Riley and
Farley

Please see the attached map of affected homes. If your home is included in this emergency shut-off and boil water notice you have been notified via our Swift 911 Emergency Notification System and a door hanger will be placed on your front door once the Boil Water Notice is in effect. If you have not been notified you are not included in this emergency shut off and subsequent boil water notice.

The repair is to take place from noon-1:00 p.m. If you do not loose water service during that time, you may disregard this message.

In an abundance of caution, and in accordance with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) regulations, Certain homes on the following streets that have been impacted are now under a Boil Water Notice.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has required us to notify all customers to boil their water prior to consumption (e.g., washing hands/face, brushing teeth, drinking, etc). Children, seniors, and persons with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria, and all customers should follow these directions.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and ice making should be boiled and cooled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes. The water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes.

In lieu of boiling, individuals may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

We appreciate your cooperation with TCEQ’s precautionary boil water measures during this time and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. We will inform you via our website (www.rollingwoodtx.gov) and the Swift911 Notification System when the water at affected houses is safe for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

Please contact City Hall at 512-327-1838 if there is any way we can be of assistance.

Take care, and stay well!
