Return to In-Person Meetings

Return to In-Person Meetings

In March 2020, the Governor approved a request from the Attorney General to waive certain requirements of the Texas Open Meetings Act (TOMA). This action allowed the City of Rollingwood to conduct meetings via Zoom video conference. The waiver on these requirements expired on August 31, 2021, meaning that starting September 1st, all City Council, board and commission meetings will be operating under pre-pandemic requirements including:

  • Requirement for the presiding officer to be physically present
  • Requirement for quorum of the board or commission to be physically present
  • The public must be allowed to physically attend a meeting
  • Technical Requirements for remote video meetings (remote members must be visible and heard through the duration of the meeting)

Per City Council direction, we are looking into a hybrid meeting solution where City Council Members, board and commission members, and members of the public can participate in meetings remotely as long as the criteria above are met. Until then, all meetings for all participants will be held in-person. Per CDC guidance, we strongly recommend that masks are worn by everyone in City Hall regardless of vaccination status.

As done in the past before virtual meetings, our meetings are all live-streamed to our YouTube channel at the following link: https://bit.ly/YouTubeCORW

You are also welcome to email in comments ahead of a public meeting to Assistant City Administrator Ashley Wayman at awayman@rollingwoodtx.gov to be distributed to the board or commission that is meeting.

Thank you,

City of Rollingwood
